David Tisch

BoxGroup

David Tisch is the Managing Partner of BoxGroup, a New York City-based early stage investment fund. BoxGroup is an investor in over 200 seed-stage companies, including Vine, Blue Apron, Sunrise, Warby Parker, Harry’s, Oscar, Behance, Handy and more. David is also the co-founder and Chairman of Spring, a mobile marketplace where customers shop directly within the app from a curated community of brands. Spring was named by Apple as one of the Best Apps of 2014. In 2014, David was named Head of Startup Studio at Cornell Tech, the University’s New York City-based graduate campus focused on digital technologies and the information economy. He is also Entrepreneur in Residence for Wharton’s Entrepreneurship Program. David is the co-founder of TechStars NYC and has served on numerous boards, including Mayor Bloomberg’s Advisory Council on Technology, the Investor Board of Venture for America, and the Entrepreneurship board at NYU. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and New York University School of Law, and currently lives in New York City


David Arcara

David Arcara is a Co-Founder and serves as Managing Director at Laconia Capital Group. He serves as a Board Member at Ocrolus. He served as a Member at New York Angels. He is the co-managing member of the General Partner and the Management Company. Arcara has over 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur and general manager of young high-growth and turnaround media and marketing businesses, both digital and traditional. Arcara has raised, either as lead entrepreneur or as part of the founding team, nearly $100 million dollars of angel and venture funding. In 2010, Arcara founded Rubber Soul Ventures to contribute his personal capital and operational expertise to emerging digital technology companies and entrepreneurs. Rubber Soul Ventures currently has a portfolio of over a dozen early stage ventures based primarily in the Northeast corridor including LeagueApps, LocalVox, Page Science and Wymsee. Arcara was also the co-founder of TalkSix, a consumer facing interactive streaming video start-up with a significant B-to-B component. Arcara has also served as General Manager of Imaginova Corporation's digital publishing division, including the flagship property Space.com, founded by CNN's Lou Dobbs and former astronaut Neil Armstrong. Earlier in Arcara's career, he co-founded Alliance Custom Communications, to create custom content for marketers seeking to enhance their brands' customer engagement. Arcara was ultimately approached by Random House Publishing to re-launch and lead the business as Random House Custom Media. Arcara was also a co-founder of UGO Networks, which ultimately consisted of over 500 independent affiliate web publishers reaching over 15 million users a month and became one of the nation's largest 18 to 34 male-targeted online entertainment content networks. The UGO founding team was among those pioneering the concept of an online ad-supported publishing network. Arcara served as UGO's Executive Vice President and led multiple operating functions including affiliate network development, sales, and marketing. UGO was purchased by Hearst Corporation in 2006 for approximately $100 million. In 1992, Arcara formed DJA Media, Inc., which focused on turning around underperforming radio stations by improving product and sales. In 1996, DJA Media formed Radio Enterprise, Inc., a joint venture with Clear Channel Communications, through which Clear Channel provided financing to allow Radio Enterprise to expand to a total of four stations under Arcara's leadership. Radio Enterprise was sold to Clear Channel in 1998 after more than doubling its asset value at the peak of government-deregulated consolidation. Arcara is a member of New York Angels, one of the country's leading angel investor organizations, as well as Harvard Business School Angels. He is a graduate of the University of Colorado, Boulder, where he earned a BA in Philosophy, and holds his MBA from Harvard Business School.

Previously, Alex was the co-founder & CEO of Uniq Apps, Inc., a SaaS platform for encrypted work messaging. Prior to Uniq, he was the co-founder of Live Entertainment Network, an HTML5 interactive video player platform that helped artists monetize live shows on a “premium-content-only” destination. Chris is a founding partner of Transmedia Capital, an early stage venture fund focused on capital efficient companies that provide technology and services for digital media, entertainment, content publishing, gaming, mobile apps and online advertising. Recent investments include: Wish, Domo, Percolate, Snap, Genius, Scan, TalkIQ, Kickback, Alpha, Superphone, Lively, Mystery Science and Facebook. Chris was also the founder of KickLabs, one the top rated technology accelerators in the world. Chris has been on the forefront of emerging technologies since the commercialization of the web. In 1997 he co-founded AdAuction, the first online media exchange; the precursor to auction based and dynamic pricing platforms for online media. Chris was instrumental in restructuring business strategies for marketing and lead generation companies GetRelevant (acquired by Lycos), and Aptimus (acquired by Apollo LLC). He launched the first online independent yellow page directory, automated coupon platform, RSS advertising and content syndication system, and helped develop the first peer to peer ad delivery system. He received Ad Age's prestigious i20 award for his contributions to the development of interactive marketing and advertising. Chris has been an active adviser and investor in emerging companies for the past twenty years. He was a seed investor in Omniture, the webs leading analytics company (IPO 2006), acquired by Adobe in 2009. Chris spent more than ten years at Reebok International where he held management positions in sales and marketing and also owned one of the first sports retail chains in Southern California. For twenty years, Chris was distance runner completing multiple marathons and ultra marathons. Today he is a fitness junkie, golfer, and skier. Chris co-founded The Last Mile with his wife Beverly, a program that helps bridge the gap between the nation's penal system and the technology business sector. The Last Mile was first launched at San Quentin State Prison, and is in multiple correctional facilities throughout California. Chris lives in San Francisco, with his wife and business partner, Beverly. They are focused on fitness and a sustainable lifestyle. They are GS Warrior fans and spend their chill time in Jackson Hole, WY.


Flavio Rump

Flavio Rump is a Co-Founder and serves as Growth Expert at Nossa Labs. He is also an angel investor. He serves as the Growth Consultant at FarmLogs. He is also a Co-Founder of Bitcoin Pulse. Previously he co-founded SendTask. He also served as the Chief Marketing Officer at Ovo Cosmico. He co-founded and headed the marketing for Switzerland's largest daily deals site doing 35MM in sales in 2011, developed viral twitter apps reaching more than 1MM users and started bitcoinpulse.com to track bitcoin adoption.

Most recently, Joe was EVP of Product and a founding team member of Demand Media (NYSE: DMD) where he spent the last six years building products and communities for one of the largest networks on the Internet. Joe was also the Co-Founder of The Daily Plate, a popular diet and fitness community and app that was acquired by Demand Media as a foundation for the health and wellness site LIVESTRONG.COM. Joe and the team grew LIVESTRONG.COM from a small startup to one of the most visited health and wellness sites in its category in just 4 years. The MyPlate Calorie tracker mobile app has grown to be one of the most popular paid apps in the health category on iTunes since launching in 2007. Prior to Demand Media, Joe was SVP of Network and Operations at Intermix Media, parent company of MySpace (acquired by Fox Interactive Media), where he was responsible for building and operating the online gaming and social media platform group. Previously, Joe was an executive in Silicon Valley where he worked for a variety of technology and gaming startups inclduing TEN/Pogo.com (acquired by EA), Excite@Home and Pulse Entertainment. He first learned how to program at 11, developed his first site at 13 and started his first internet business at the age of 16. Prior to Base, Ryan was the CEO and co-founder of AppStores.com, which was acquired by InMobi (one of the largest mobile advertising companies). AppStores.com was a white label app store platform that gives publishers the tools to run their own micro app stores. Ryan founded AppStores.com after leaving Facebook, where he was an early employee and part of the Platform team.
