Jay Baer

Jay Baer is an American marketing consultant, speaker, and the author of the New York Times bestselling book, Youtility. He is the founder of Convince & Convert, a strategy consulting firm that helps prominent companies gain and keep more customers through the smart intersection of technology, social media, and customer service. Being the founder of five companies, Baer has worked with over 700 brands including Nike, Cold Stone Creamery, Sony, ExactTarget, and ConocoPhillips since 1994, including 25 of the Fortune 1000. His Convince & Convert blog is ranked among the world’s top marketing resources. In his early career, Baer was a political campaign manager on congressional, gubernatorial and Arizona initiative campaigns. He also served as a political consultant advising campaigns on marketing including direct mail and radio strategies. Baer is a graduate of the University of Arizona (1991) with a major in political science and a minor in communications.

Kyle York

Kyle York is an Angel Investor. He serves as Chief Strategy Officer at Dynamic Network Services. He also serves as Advisor at Bliss. He serves as the Chief Revenue Officer and Chief Marketing Officer for Internet Infrastructure Company, Dynamic Network Services, where he leads the overall sales, business development, customer service and marketing efforts for the company. He is responsible for the corporate strategy and positioning behind Dyn's rapid and aggressive expansion into the enterprise marketplace and eCommerce revenue growth. BMW i Ventures is the corporate venture capital arm of BMW Group. The firm makes early to later stage investments in the technology and customer services space specially in the Autonomous Driving, Digital Car and Automotive Cloud, e-mobility, AI, data, cyber security, industry, mobility and energy sectors. It was founded in 2011 and is located in Mountain View and San Francisco, California; New York, New York and Munich, Germany.

Patrick Gannon

Patrick Gannon serves as Vice President of Loan Marketplace at UpLift. He is a product strategist and finance expert with long record of innovation in online finance, financial services, and computing systems. As General Partner and Chief Investment Officer at Archimedes, Patrick's primary responsibility is working with investors in addition to the general responsibilities of being a partner. Prior to Archimedes, Patrick was the Senior Vice President of Investor Services at, where he was responsible for all aspects of the company's relationship with investors, including fundraising, communications and customer service. He was also responsible for product development and led the new P2P Investing industry with a number of new product offerings, sales channels, and metrics. Patrick has spent his career leading technology-based innovations, focused on financial products and services. From early experience as a programmer on Wall Street, his professional experience includes serving in technology, product, consulting and management roles at leading financial services companies including Wells Fargo, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Charles Schwab, and Visa. He has an MBA in Finance and Strategic Management from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a BS in Mathematics with Computer Science from MIT.

Andrew Black

Andrew has a wealth of experience helping to build some of the world’s leading consumer products and consumer technology companies. His expertise spans six different industries and includes building and transforming businesses in highly competitive markets. He has launched over 100 new products and services for global icons including Nike, Virgin, LEGO, Cadbury Schweppes, and Colgate Palmolive. Andrew has strong operational and leadership experience, having been President Americas at LEGO, General Manager for the US Equipment Business at Nike Inc., and VP Marketing-North America at Cadbury Schweppes/Dr Pepper 7UP. In 2004, he followed his passion for starting disruptive new businesses and founded Virgin Mobile Canada with Sir Richard Branson. He and his team grew the Virgin business to over 1 million customers and $300M in revenues within five years, while winning the JD Power Award for customer service every year. Virgin Mobile was acquired by Bell Canada in 2009. Black then founded Blackpoynt Brand Ventures with the mission of helping visionary entrepreneurs build disruptive consumer brands. His portfolio of 8 early stage consumer businesses included Awake Chocolate and Hello with two portfolio companies exiting – Pushlife (acquired by Google) and Virgin Gaming (acquired by Difference Capital). In 2013, Black founded BrandProject, a company creation studio that builds, buys, and makes seed stage investments in disruptive consumer brands. BrandProject raised $12M in equity, lead by the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC). BrandProject provides both consumer business building expertise and investment equity to all its partner companies. Black is a graduate of Queen’s University with a Bachelor in Economics. He also is a Board Member of Free The Children and Virgin Unite, and is a mentor at Next 36 and Extreme Start Ups. Andrew, his wife and four daughters live in Toronto.

David Hodges

David Hodges is the Founder and Managing Director of Loc8. He has worked in the technology and software industry for 25 years with a background in networking, infrastructure, expertise and qualifications in project management and service operations. David is focused on innovation and technology that benefits process management, field service, customer service improvement and automation. He believes in making technology decisions based on measurable outcomes, commercial benefits and most importantly social and community benefits. David spends his time working to progress that agenda in his personal and professional life. Founding Smartpath in 2004 and then Loc8 in 2011, David has brought together a talented group of professionals to create the dynamic business that Loc8 is today. “As a start-up Cloud business, we were driven to offer a true solution for businesses eager to improve customer service, automate process and reduce administration” says Hodges. From these humble beginnings, Loc8 has grown into an industry leading platform used by some of Australia’s largest organisations and thousands of small trade-based organisations. Along with his “day job” at Loc8 David is involved in a number of community and social enterprises as well as some, not so tech focused, rural activities in his home town in North East Victoria.
