Mike Collett

Promus Ventures

Mike Collett is Founder and Managing Partner of Promus Ventures, a venture capital firm based in Chicago and San Francisco investing in deep-technology software and hardware companies in the U.S., Europe and New Zealand. Mike has been a venture capital investor in software and hardware for over 15 years. He has invested in more than 65 private technology companies, including areas such as artificial intelligence/machine learning, space, fintech, robotics, syn bio, computer vision, connected car, blockchain, healthcare, insurance, agriculture, nanotechnology and others. Mike currently serves on numerous Boards of Directors of private technology companies, including Spire, Gauss Surgical, Dispatch, ICEYE, CrossLend, Rhombus and others. Mike previously was Founder and Managing Partner of Masters Capital Nanotechnology Fund, a venture capital firm. Investments included companies in quantum cascade lasers, quantum dots, photonic integrated optoelectronic devices, nano-engineered fabrics and others. While at Masters Capital, a hedge fund, Mike invested in private technology software and hardware companies. Prior to venture capital, Mike was a Vice President at Merrill Lynch in their Mergers & Acquisitions group as well as an Associate at Duff & Phelps. Mike holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Math and Bachelor’s of Arts in English from Vanderbilt University. He also holds a Masters of Business Administration in Finance from Washington University in St. Louis. Mike and his wife Paige have four children and live in Chicago.


Randall Howard

Randall Howard is a senior serial technology executive committed to building global, high growth technology organizations using a “Venture 2.0” model. Randall is ''hands-on'' Executive Chair at VERDEXUS portfolio investments iotum and Maintenance Assistant and Director at ExpertFile. From its acquisition in May 2004 to April 2006, Randall served as CEO of portfolio company, Coreworx, since acquired by Acorn Energy (NASDAQ: ACFN). Returning to Canada from his first US start up, Coherent, in 1984, he founded MKS one of Canada's leading enterprise software vendors and whose products optimize internal software development within large corporations. As founder, Chairman and CEO he led growth to $45 million revenue and 375 employees worldwide, including seven acquisitions. In 2011, MKS was sold to billion dollar Boston-based software company, PTC for US$304 million. To help jumpstart the Waterloo investment scene, he helped launch Golden Triangle AngelNet where he serves as Board member and chair of the Selection Committee. He is also board member at Innovation Guelph, on the Wireless Advisory Panel at MaRS and Dean’s Advisory Council for Laurier Business. He is a past director and co-founder of Communitech and former CFO of Uniforum Association. As a seasoned board member/advisor, Randall has served a huge array of firms including Gore Mutual Insurance, Iotum, Coreworx, Necho, GoodContacts, Whitehill Technologies, Waterloo Maple Software, ARISE Technologies and Nanodesign many of which were successfully acquired or taken public. Randall holds an Honours B.Math from University of Waterloo. An active social entrepreneur, Randall is Treasurer of Roseneath Theatre Company, Co-founder/director of Elora Environment Centre, Chair of Centre Wellington Community Foundation and Board member of Flush Ink Performing Arts. He was recently invited to be one of a Group of Seven to help animinate Governor General David Johnston's Smart and Caring Nation vision for Canada's 150th birthday in 2017. Awards and honours include: • Community Builder of the Year Award from Golden Triangle Angelnet (2011), • Faculty of Mathematics Alumni Achievement Award from University of Waterloo (2011) • Communitech Impact Award (2005), and • Entrepreneur of the Year Award for High Technology (1997)


David Mandel

David Mandel is an Angel Investor. He was the Founder and served as the Chief Executive Officer at Top Finance Company. Previously he served as Chairman, President & Chief Executive Officer at Alliance United Insurance.


Craig Earnshaw

Craig Earnshaw serves as Founding Member & Limited Partner at Park City Angels. Earnshaw serves as Mentor, Gentech at BoomStartup. He founded LifeLink Corporation which provides advanced sales life insurance proposal systems to financial professionals. Craig holds a BS in Computer Science from Brigham Young University. Andrew Levy is a Co-Founder and serves as Chief Strategy Officer at Apteligent. Previously, he co-founded AdThrow. Levy was a Co-Founder and serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Crittercism. Levy is also the co-founder of competitivecoverage.com, an insurance marketing and lead generation company. Previously, Levy was an HP engineer working on enterprise data warehousing software. At HP he led teams specializing in agile programming methodologies and advocating rapid product iterations. Prior to HP, Levy worked for FedCentric, a government consulting startup in the defense and intelligence space, Silicon Graphics Federal, Northrop Grumman, and Computer Sciences Corp. He has a B.S. in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University.

XL Innovate is the venture capital arm of XL Group and is based in Menlo Park, California. The firm focuses on making investments in financial technology, insurance and risk underwriting, and analytic companies operating in the insurance industry.
